The Raccoons Are Not Worried
By arnelle | July 25, 2008
The raccoons are not worried.
Antibiotics are failing,
Tornadoes are forming
Interest rates are going up
But the raccoons are not worried.
(Neither are the skunks
Nor the pikas nor the mouse.)
Crime is increasing,
Morals decreasing.
War is unceasing,
But the raccoons are not worried.
(Neither are the beavers
Nor the mountain porcupine.)
Armageddon is coming,
Cities are crumbling,
Mountains are tumbling,
But the raccoons are planning a picnic
‘Cause it’s a beautiful evening
Down in the hollow
Of His hand.
