    Living Biblically.

    By arnelle | March 15, 2008

    A. J. Jacobs, a nonreligious Jew, recently spent a year trying to live by every command he found in the Bible. His book, A Year of Living Biblically, details his efforts. He was asked how the year had changed him, and he responded that he has a sense of the sacred which he never had before. Asked if there were any of the commandments that he would continue to keep now that he had returned to his corporate job, he said there were two that he would never give up: 1) in everything giving thanks, and 2) keeping the Sabbath Day. He said that these two commandments alone had revolutionized his life and his family relationships.

Maybe some of us need to take a closer look at God’s blessing waiting for us in these two commandments.

I’m in the process of reading his book right now. I’m enjoying his perspective immensely. One I cannot have from my Bible-based upbringing. However, I admit, I find myself praying for A.J. and his wife and kids as I read that GOd will increase his love for Him. : )
